OBrecs Consulting is a bespoke web development and workflow automation practice in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, founded in 2018 to bring to the digital medium the same standard of craft its founder’s parents brought to cloth.
Origins
OBrecs’s founder is the son of a master tailor and an expert seamstress. His parents’ work clothed people with dignity. The lessons he carries from them — measure before you cut, fit to the one body, immaculate on the inside, Pure Love and Sublime Expertise — are the standard of his work today. The cloth changed; the craft did not.
The Italian craftsmanship lineage is a debt acknowledged in every engagement. The name Bespoke in OBrecs’s tagline is not a marketing word but an homage — to his parents, to the ancestors who placed him here at this moment, and to every craftsperson who has fitted work to a single body with patience and skill.
The founding of OBrecs
OBrecs Consulting was founded in 2018 with a specific framing: small and mid-sized North American businesses end up with web infrastructure that fits the agency that built it, not the business that needed it. Plugins they don’t need. Hosting they don’t control. Logins they don’t have. Costs that creep up every year while the work itself gets older and slower.
The bespoke alternative is to measure first, fit to the business, build to be owned by the client. Every credential registered in the business owner’s name. Every account in their name. Every license in their name. The business can fire OBrecs without breaking anything. That is the standard.
OBrecs was built as a one-person practice deliberately. Bespoke cannot scale by adding hands; it scales by the standard of the work compounding over time. The practice takes one engagement at a time and gives each the attention a fitted jacket requires.
Moral foundation
OBrecs’s founder is a Catholic. The work of OBrecs is governed by Catholic moral teaching and the Seven Holy Virtues — the theological three (Faith, Hope, Charity) and the cardinal four (Prudence, Justice, Fortitude, Temperance). The standard explicitly named in his client engagements is the Perfect Knight — Balian’s standard from the Godfrey of Ibelin oath:
Be without fear in the face of your enemies.
Be brave and upright that God may love thee.
Speak the truth always, even if it leads to your death.
Safeguard the helpless and do no wrong.
Operationally, this means: truth above flattery in every engagement, justice in dealing (fair pricing · fair work · no exploiting information asymmetry), prudence in counsel (the client’s long-term right action over short-term convenience), fortitude in hard conversations, temperance in scope and tone and billing, and the theological virtues holding the frame at every decision moment.
The standard is the standard. Profit is not the highest measure.
Practice geography
OBrecs is headquartered in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Engagements run across all of Canada and into the northern United States — rooted in Winnipeg, with active reach through the Prairies and Ontario, and the northern border states: Alaska, North Dakota, South Dakota, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Montana, Wyoming, and Utah. The practice serves industrial distributors, professional services firms, hair and beauty studios, restaurants, healthcare practices, trades, and the small business owners who quietly carry their crafts to a new generation.
