The Competitive Market Analysis

Your market, measured.

Most established owners have never once sat down and looked, systematically, at where they stand against the firms they compete with every day. Not from any lack of capacity — from time. You have been on a job, in a truck, or on the phone with a supplier for twenty-five years, and nobody has ever handed you the view. This is that view.

What The Analysis Measures

Your market as it actually is.

Everything below is public, verifiable, and measured on the day it is written. No estimates dressed as facts.

Your field, ranked
The ten firms that actually appear when your buyers search — ranked, with rating, review count, and how recently anyone bothered to leave one. Plus the two thresholds that matter: what it takes to enter the field, and what it takes to lead it.
What they are found under
The categories your competitors have claimed, and the ones nobody has. Being found is often a question of what you are filed under, not how good you are.
Where they are listed
Who appears on the directories and review sites that search engines and AI assistants actually cite — and who does not.
Who the machines can read
Which of your competitors have made themselves legible to software, and which are invisible to it. This is usually the widest gap in any field, and the cheapest to close.
Who surfaces when someone asks
Who comes up when a buyer searches — and, where we have measured it, who comes up when a buyer asks an AI assistant instead.
Where you already lead
This gets the same weight as any gap. If the honest answer on a point is “you already win here — defend it,” that is what the analysis will say.
The market around you
How large the arena is, which direction the spending is moving and why, when the work peaks and troughs, and how crowded the field really is.
The Grading

Every claim carries its own weight.

The moment we hand you something this useful, you may make real decisions on it. So every statement is marked in the margin.

F
Fact
Measured directly, on the date shown. Reproducible by anyone, including you.
J
Judgment
Our read of what the facts mean. Yours to disagree with.
C
Correlation
Two things that move together, where we cannot prove one causes the other.

An analysis you cannot stand behind is a liability with a bow on it. We would rather show you the seams.

The Terms

What it costs you, and what you owe.

The Competitive Market Analysis is prepared at no charge. It is yours to keep, and yours to hand to any vendor you like — whether or not you ever work with us.

There is no hook in that sentence. We are saying it out loud precisely so there is no unspoken one.

The Tailor’s Sequence

First the pattern. Then the fitting. Then the cut.

I
The pattern
This analysis measures the occasion — the field you are dressing for.
II
The fitting
The Foundation Audit measures you against that field, and ranks every finding by what it is costing you. Not a list of technical faults — a battle plan.
III
The cut
Only if you want it. You may stop after any step and be better off for it. That is the test of an honest gift, and this one is built to pass it.
Questions

Asked plainly, answered plainly.

What is a Competitive Market Analysis?

A measured view of the market a business competes in — the ten firms that appear when its buyers search, ranked with ratings and review counts; the categories and directories competitors are found under; which of them search engines and AI assistants can actually read; and where the business already leads. Every claim is graded as fact, judgment, or correlation.

What does it cost?

It is prepared at no charge. The written analysis is the client’s to keep and to hand to any vendor they choose, whether or not they ever work with OBrecs.

How is it different from an SEO audit?

An SEO audit looks inward at one website. A Competitive Market Analysis looks outward at the field first — who is winning the searches the buyer actually uses, and why — then explains what that means for the business. It gives an audit its reason for existing.

Do I have to buy anything afterward?

No. The analysis stands on its own, and so does the Foundation Audit that can follow it. A client may stop after either and be better off for it.

Who is it for?

Established family and legacy businesses — firms that have already earned their reputation over years or generations, and want it to survive contact with AI-driven search.
